ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATIONS WEEK 5-WORD SCRAMBLE GAME

Hi friends,

welcome to the 5th and final week of celebrations,I cant believe its already 5th week,time flies huh?I have decided to go with the game,as i dont want to overburden you all with another challenge:)).

So this is how it works:

A scrambled word will be posted in the side bar of my blog daily at 12 p.m,for all the seven days.

You have to collect all the seven words,and find the correct word too and mail me on monday june 6th.You have only one day to do that,till monday midnight 12 o'clock,mails after that will not be considered.My mail id is in the side bar.One person who finds all the word right will receive a prize package from me which include die cuts,embellishments,ribbons and more(i have not finalized it yet,once i am done with i will post the picture).If two or more people give right answers winners will be selected randomly:)).

FEW TIPS ON EFFECTIVE BLOGGING FOR NEW BLOGGERS.

Hey guys,

this is a post i wanted to share for a long.Now its right time to post during the anniversary celebrations i guess. Initially i when i started a blog,i hardly know anything and the first 3 months will be really frustrating for all bloggers i guess,until at least few people recognize your blog and it take some time to appear in google search too.I really want to thank madhavi of get crafyt,who helped me a lot right from the beginning,she is a pioneer in blogging and she has a amazing network called Craftziners,she has the talent to bring the people together which all of us cannot do i think.Now its been two years since i started my blog,i guess i can give some tips to new bloggers,which will be helpful.This is just from my experience,other bloggers who have any tips please leave them in the comment section,i will add it here.After all,blogging is all about getting together and helping each other,what say??:)

• First n foremost,keep your blogger template a very appealing and pleasant one,which will attract people.Contrast designs and colors will irritate people,avoid black background.Few templates will take time to load,which will make readers impatient and leave your blog,so check it out before applying the template.
• It will take at least 3 to 4 months for your blog to appear in google search,so be patience at that time.Mean while you can visit other blogs,leave some comments so that people may get to know that your are here.
• There are lot of traffic sites in which you can submit your blog,which is supposed to bring more traffic to your site.I too did that initially,but dont know how far it worked:)).
• Keep the content of your blog interesting,new and useful.Concentrate on the way you present it,i mean the writing part n photographs.
• Have a blog roll that is related to the content of your blog,which will definitely help to bring in more people.
• Update your blog often at least 2 to 3 posts per week,only then your blog will appear in google search.
• Keep your title related to the post,..i can see many of them write A new work,..another painting,..one more card,..like that.Remember google searches only for the title and not the whole content of your blog.So keep a title n subtitle if you post different types of art-ex:if i post a quilling photo frame i keep my title as QUILLING-PHOTO FRAME OR QUILLED PHOTO FRAME,so if somebody searches for quilling or photo frame,my blog will appear for both.
• Apart from regular post,keep some contest,events in which people can participate and it will bring more people in.
• If you are good in writing tutorials that is the best thing that can bring in more visitors,because only people who wants to self learn things will be visiting blogs often.
• While writing a post keep the common visitors in your mind,not only your blog friends.You will hardly have 50 blog friends:))so your target should be common visitors which will be in lakhs.

So thats it came to my mind now,if i can i will update it more later.Please feel free to share your tips in the comment section which i will add it here,come lets help our new blog friends,..:))

TWISTED EASEL CARD

Hi all,
its been long time since i posted my work in my blog,lol.As i said i started up with many projects,..(just only started)but ended up in finishing none.So,i felt it would be nice to make a card which will kick start my mojo again and its been long time since i tried something new.My bookmarks are already full,so tried this twisted easel card which is first in the list,hopefully i will try others too soon.
My idea is to use coffee n cream color combination,but with loads of distressing it ended up like a vintage card,..anyhow loved the result and this card looks much much better in real,couldn't photograph well in night light:((
The flowers are handmade,the center flower is made without punches(hand cut)for my guest anita's challenge(hope she likes it)Lots of die cuts,and bling has been used,i am tried now to list them all:)).The flower center and butterfly center is filled with Pie lane glitter balls,should i say i love it??i am not a great bling fan before(you must have not seen that in my card at al)but now after using their products now i started liking it a lot:)))

ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION WEEK 4-GUEST CHALLENGE

Hello people,
welcome to the 4th week of anniversary celebrations,hope you all are enjoying what is going on here in my blog.Before going to this week's challenge,i want to clear a few things about the 'Inspirational challenge' as some of our new blog friends find it difficult to understand the concept of casing.

• You can case any of our India bloggers card including me:)).Casing means copying the main theme and the layout of the original card,other things like colors,design papers and embellishments can be different as it is not possible to use the same products..If you refer my sample card of the challenge and the original card(i have given the link),you can understand it better.I have followed the layout n theme,but i have changed the color,window design and even the flowers.Hope this makes it clear,if you still have any doubt mail me.
• one can enter as many times as they like,there is no restriction for the no.of entries.
• Deadline has been extended till5th june,sunday.Hope to see many participants this time:).

Hi, I,m Anita ,an avid crafter who sleeps, eat and breathe crafting. I love trying out new techniques and forever eager to learn. Another addiction is hoarding craft supplies and I do not think this will wear off anymore. In fact its growing day by day!

Those who have visited my blog know very well, how crazy I,m about making flowers. Believe me, making each one of them thrills me to no end. So when Kavitha approached me to post a tutorial for her blog, I racked my brains for over a week to give something new. I loved making this flower and YES, I did not use PUNCHES!!

So here is my tutorial step-by - step, on how to make these flowers.

Since I,m bad at taking pics(AM I NOT FAMOUS FOR THIS BY NOW?) (LOL). I hope that you all will bear with me.

Supplies:

mulberry paper or any thin hand made paper, distress inks-faded jeans, broken china, dusty concord. water spray, scissors, glue, brush, glitter glue, punched out black snowflakes, glue gun,

Step1:Stamp the distress inks on a craft mat and spray water

Step2:place your paper and press it well so that all the paint comes on it.
Step3:dry it wih a heat gun or air dry

Step4:Cut petals freehand

Step5:Added a little water to glue and apply on the petals both sides with a brush.

Step6:Twist the petals firmly like shown


Step7:air dry and when it is semi dry reopen them and pinch the bottom
Step8:with a glue gun apply on a small circle and place the petals overlapping.

Step9:use snowflakes and glitter to make centres. apply glitter on the petals.

Here is the card that I made using these flowers,..

Now, my challenge to you is to make anything using flowers that are handmade. It can be a card, box, layout, anything of your choice.

But the catch is that it should have at least one flower that is handmade and YES, NOT PUNCH CRAFT FLOWERS.

The winner will get a RAK from me will contain--Silhouette sd diecuts, spell binders die cuts, embossed CB papers, Patterned papers, ribbons, embellishments, and clear stamps from my own cards and scraps. I may add more goodies if I see a good number of entries. You can give multiple entries.

I got these two awards from husenna and tejal sometime back.Due to the blogging break n the anniversary celebrations i couldn't find time to post it,..ok better late than never.Thank you girls,for passing these awards to me.
So, i have to pass this awards to others and tell few things about me.I guess most of you got these award,i am passing it to all my blog friends,..so those who dint get it please feel free to grab it:))).

Few things about me:

• My dream was to become a fashion designer,and even i did a course on that,but when i came to know stitching is the main part,i skipped that idea and then chosen this profession(i really thought fashion designing is all about sketching and designing in note book,stitching is the one thing i don't like at all:)))
• I love fast driving both car n bike.
• If i like something i can do anything for that,and if i don't,. i wont even bother to look back at it.
• I love photography and wish(dream)to learn professional photography sometime in my life.
• I have really become additive to crafts and sacrificed all my hobbies which i feel bad now and wish to start again.Though crafting is a great hobby,i guess anything as a profession is stress with commitments,deadlines and to keep up with the latest things.
• I wish to learn maximum no.of arts n crafts in my life time.
• My latest addiction is paper craft,and all my unfinished paintings seeks my attention badly:((
• I really cant do a same work continuously for a long time except browsing,lol.

ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION WEEK 3-INSPIRATIONAL CHALLENGE

a very warm welcome to the third week of anniversary celebrations:))are you enjoying the celebrations?all suggestions and ideas are most welcome:).As i said i am here with a interesting challenge today-INSPIRATIONAL CHALLENGE.Most of you know about casing a card,taking a card that you like,and making a card based on that design,colors,themes,etc.So that is the challenge today,but what is new in this?you must case only a INDIAN BLOGGERS card:))).Mostly in terms of casing we choose only a foreign bloggers card,ofcourse they are pioneers in that,but we too have lot of talented and inspirational card makers here.

Before going to the challenges rules,here is my card i made for the challenge.My card is based on mona jain's this card,i really love her quilling cards,its very neat n elegant.This card is the one i loved a lot in the recent past,and mow i have a reason to case it:)))Do visit her blog for more lovely inspirations..I made the windows with tile punch to give decorative effect,but i regret myself that i covered most of it:((.Sorry for the poor photograph,..

welcome to the final day of guest bloggers post,as i said yesterday you are going to meet two guest bloggers today because of blogger interruption.Sorry for the delay,again blogger went crazy and from morning i am not able to upload photos,after trying for hours,finally i made it up.

Oopss,.blogger went down yesterday and spoiled all my plans,,grrrr,..now all the orders are confused for the guest bloggers post and i lost all the comments on the previous post,.Ok anyways happy that its restored today,so you will meet two guest bloggers tomorrow.

Today guest in my blog is ashmita fro 'Indian scrapper'Ahe specializes in vintage style and i love her dimensional cards a lot,.over to ashmita.

My name is Ashmita Das i am a trained Media Professional. But since i married an Army officer who gets transferred to a new place every once in a while i cannot have a regular job. So, to keep myself occupied every free moment i get i do crafts. I have always been an avid crafter but since i got married 4 years back i started to scrapbook and that is how my love affair with paper craft started. I love making cards as well as scrapbooks and also scrapbook mini albums. Beings an Indian by origin here the crafting has not boomed like in the other countries so most of the crafting equipments are not available here. We (other Indian crafters and me) mostly rely on etsy and ebay for our purchases but still things can be very expensive. But i make do and necessity being the mother of invention and also i believe creativity and talent and the zeal to make beautiful projects makes up for the absence of all else because i have the passion and love for it. I have attached a few of my projects where i have used ribbons. I have learned macramé and embroidery so i bring a lot of that into my paper crafting projects too. I am very fond of the distressed look and vintage style and most of my projects generally are inspired by them. There are so many things you can do with paper and ribbon and i love to constantly try out new techniques and ideas. I am self taught trying to accumulate knowledge from all the bloggers from across the globe and not to mention Google and YouTube.
